The village of Leintwardine, where Ban Tarleton lived out the last portion of his life and is buried, has an active historical society. They've recently printed a new, full-color brochure on Tarleton, which features an article by Sue Adams (whose family currently owns Leintwardine House), and another on the sale of the battleflags a few years back.
In addition, it features a number of images taken from Susan Tarleton's Commonplace books (think: personal journal). Susan, of course, was an artist, and seems to have passed along the interest to her husband. I've seen a few of his (presumably earlier) sketches from another source, and they were, at best, awkward. The ones the LHS have turned up are relaxed and far improved, suggesting that, along with fishing, it had become a well-enjoyed hobby. With John Williams' permission, I'm reproducing a couple below.
